Akita was pronounced worthy of belief by Bishop Ito. It was essentially the same as Fatima. Sister Agnes Sasagawa was an obviously very saintly woman and the statue that wept tears, blood and oil 101 times was authentic. Also, she had two miraculous healings. I believe in it.

Of Course We Should Question, But I’m A 74 Year Old Catholic Man,,,, Never Been To Medjugorje , But I Know A Very Humble Holy Priest Here In Dublin And He’s Been There 22 Or 23 Times And He Believes It’s Authentic , Could He Be Wrong ? Yes Of Course,, But As I Mentioned He’s A Very Holy Priest, And Having Watched Tom Medjugorje On RUclips And Testimony’s Of So Many , I’ve NO Reason To Doubt Its Authenticity , And Will Visit Some Day, God Willing, 22.08.2024, Dublin.

Totally agree with you on Medjugorje. in the Middle Ages there would be false apparitions of Our Lady which the Church did not support, but where people experienced conversion. Look, I experienced a conversion at Pentecostal Jesus freak prayer group. Does that meant we Catholics should all flock to its prayer meetings, which by the way, stopped after a year or two? Also, a priest I know experienced a conversion at a Billy Graham crusade as a protestant. Later he converted to the Catholic Church and was called to the priesthood. The fruits of a valid apparition are not merely conversions. Obedience to the Church and coherence with Church doctrines are the major ones. The ordinary of the diocese ruled on Akita and that is with the authority of Christ. The Vatican does not rule on the validity of apparitions, unless there is some disagreement or problems arising from it. How would the Vatican have time to even rule on every apparition? That is what the bishop of the diocese does because he is close and has access to witnesses or critics and can interview them easily. Fr. John Hardon discussed this extensively and he was also personally involved with investigations of what later turned our to be false apparitions here in the US. Even 'liberal' bishops can discern this due to their office. Bayside was one such case where the bishop was liberal. Fr. Hardon investigated it for that bishop.

I love how he tells everybody that there may have been a later message with let's call it a negative reaction to Pachamama in it. And then in the end (in the classic cop out) he tells us that we should wait for the Church i.e. the Vatican i.e. the people who did Pachamama to tell us whether this was real or not... Huh? I mean seriously, think about what you just said there.

My question is why shouldn't she appear in Japan, she also appears in China and in Africa and in Europe and in the Americas, so why not Japan? The appearance was necessary everyone else was defying her message of Fatima, she had to foul their activity by using another source. Sister Lucia was hidden, she might even have already been dead. They were using a substitute to defile the message. The Bishop accepted the appearances as real and they have physical evidence.

      False. Totally false.
There are many priests in the Franciscan order in Medjugorje. Two of them were defrocked, both were minimally involved in the apparition events. What does their situation have to do with the visionaries?! Nothing.
Look up Father Leon Pereira and Father Edward A Murphy for two priests who
saw the BVM on the hillside in medj. They were both laymen when they saw Mary, and both became priests because of their experiences, recounted on this platform.
Look up Colleen Willard healed in Medjugorje. There are lots of similar stories and videos..

I respect all your disclaimers. Just a few things though, although some get obsessive, and scared, and undiscerning with apparitions.. they can also be a source of devotion, conversion, and zeal.
Also everyone always brings up that it's safer to stick with public revelation and church teaching etc but if God or His Mother are trying to tell us something we shouldn't ignore them in favor of being "safe." The rosary is not public revelation but I'm sure you agree that everyone OUGHT to pray the rosary everyday- specifically because Our Lady says so constantly in private revelations (that aren't necessary for salvation.) Ignoring God is serious- even if you follow all public revelation.

The Archbishop of Tokyo is being given his orders. His opinion means nothing. Strange he weighed in on something that he is ignorant of, and also very disrespectful to the local Bishop who approved of this. Stating it’s not relevant? Has the Archbishop of Tokyo living in a box. Look at the world. The Bishop approved the message. The authority of the local Bishop is the Authority. Sister Agnes was an obvious Holy Woman.

And do not speak against the visionaries please, they work tirelessly in support of Medjugorje, despite having families. Do not bear false witness please.

I was in Medjugorie in the late 1980’s. While not denying that some good has come from it, I was not convinced then, and I am not convinced now. One evening while delivering the “message” of the “Gospa,” I noticed the “visionaries” were smoking cigarettes, and casually drinking Coca-Cola.
I don’t know about anyone else, but if I just had a visitation from the Blessed Virgin Mary with an important message for mankind, the last thing I would be doing is smoking cigarettes and drinking Coca-Cola during the delivery of the “message!” Lastly, it is well known, that the “visionaries,” and their families have all profited financially from this event.

Sigh. People in Herzegovina smoked cigarettes like crazy in those days, many still do. There were tobacco farms all over the village in those days. They were teenagers when the events started. The BVM told them to remove the tobacco farms, which the villagers complied with. As far as the visionaries profiting off of the events, be careful about bearing false witness. Each of them got married and have children, and a few of them run small hotels for guests. They work like crazy for visitors to the village, their entire lives have been disrupted.
I have cited YT videos that show miraculous testimonies including an apparition of the BVM on the hillside there, but our host deletes my posts. The English chaplain there is a priest from Singapore whose testimony is amazing, he saw the BVM in medj as a lay person around age 20, she spoke to him, look him up.

As for the claims that the visionaries are profiting, be careful about bearing false witness. You are not their accountant, you do not know their finances. I DO know that four of them run small hotels for guests in Medjugorje, and their entire lives have been dedicated to the events. I could not keep their schedules..

@@sliglusamelius8578 It is obvious you are a supporter of these dubious and unapproved events. As you are aware, not even Pope Francis is a supporter. It is interesting to note, that once the “ visions” became the lucrative cash cow of the place, there was no further need to grow tobacco. Secondly, smoking and coca-Cola drinking “visionaries” bringing warnings and messages to mankind from the Mother of God may not have been the best image or support for the authenticity of the event, and hence they adjusted the performance Remember that Saint Bernadette entered the convent as well as Sr. Lucia of Fatima in order to live lives of prayer and penance. I can’t recall either one of them smoking cigarettes and drinking Coca-Cola while explaining their encounters with the BVM. Nor did they opened up a business, or did members of their families benefit financially. Lastly, there was plenty of scandal attached to the event, particularly between the local bishop and the Franciscan community. I personally believe it is a false apparition with diabolical overtones, and has the potential to be both a danger and an embarrassment to the church.
